I wish to congratulate all of you who received the Blessed Sacraments on these “holiest of holy” days. It is heartwarming to see so many of you make the effort to go the extra mile towards your salvation. I also congratulate all of you who attended so many of the special services during this Great Lent period. I realize that many of you were exhausted after a long day at work, but you took the time to come and pay homage to our Lord. I was overjoyed to see our children at Lenten services! Parents, I commend those of you who took the time to set the example for your children in showing them the importance of church attendance and the importance of putting Christ first in their lives!

I pray that this blessed Feast of the Resurrection gives you the spiritual strength and desire to continue to attend Divine Services, to partake of the Blessed Sacraments and to bring your children to church regularly throughout the year and for the duration of your lives.

May the Risen Lord bless you for your attempts at living a good Orthodox Christian life and for your good works!

SUNDAY RADIO BROADCAST: We receive many, many calls from listeners telling us how much they appreciate the broadcast of our Divine Liturgy because they are unable to attend church services due to health reasons. For many years, our broadcast was subsidized by several generous parishioners who enabled our parish to offer this service to the local community and surrounding areas; however, this has not been the case for the past several years. Our parish did not want to discontinue this outreach program so we have struggled with continuing the service. The cost of the broadcast is $600 per month. If you would like to donate towards this act of missionary outreach, please make your donations to ST. JOHN’S RO CATHEDRAL. Your donation will be greatly appreciated not only by our parish, but by those faithful listeners who tune in every week. Any and all donations will be greatly accepted. If you would like to contribute, please see church council members, the sextons or Fr. John. Thank you for your consideration. Acknowledgement will be given to donors in bulletins beginning today. On air acknowledgment will be given to those persons donating an entire month of broadcasts following the radio program on Sundays. ST. TIKHON’S CENTURY ASSOCIATION presents HOSPITALITY A LA RUSSE II featuring traditional Russian cuisine and entertainment on Sunday, May 26 at our church center. Tickets are $40 per adult and $10 for children under the age of 12. Times for the day’s events are as follows: 3:30 –Reception and Russian Table; 6:00 PM – Musical Selections; 6:30 PM – Desserts and Theme Basket Drawings. Come and enjoy a selection of traditional Russian delicacies featuring Zakuski (appetizers), potato pancakes, eggplant caviar, quiches, beet salad, stuffed grape leaves, marinate mushrooms, herring, Russian meatballs, kielbasa, borscht, beef Stroganoff, chicken ala Russe, pirogie, halupki, halushki, piroshki, and much more! If you are interested in attending, please call our rectory (876-0730) to make reservations. Please call at your earliest convenience. All proceeds will benefit St. Tikhon’s Orthodox Theological Seminary. Reservation forms are attached to today’s bulletin.
